All of Herman’s classes, listed below, will involve a formal presentation, discussion, and demonstrations prior to individual work. Individual and group instruction is available.
REQUIREMENTS: Participants must provide their own horses and a rope halter with a 12 to 14 foot lead line.
Introduction to Natural Horsemanship
History, concepts, methods.
Handling skills needed for safety on the ground.
Approaching a horse with a request rather than a demand.
Changing a horses mind rather than just his behavior.
Establishing a teaching situation that puts the relationship first,
with a “willing partnership” as the goal.

Preparation for Riding
Basic “yields” necessary for rider safety and performance.
Saddling & bridling.
On line (halter) work: leading, circling, driving, drawing.
Transitions: direction, gait, and speed.
